Confetti!

Most couples know that they want a confetti shot on their wedding day (and why wouldn’t you?!) - so it is just a case of going out and buying some confetti right? There are some points that you might want to give a bit of thought to.

Your Venue

Firstly - what does your venue say about confetti? Some venues only allow certain types of confetti, or only allow it in certain areas of the venue. It is much better to be aware of this from the outset, rather than finding out at a later point once you have your heart set on something.

Type of Confetti

There are so many options! Paper, dried flowers, bubbles… and then there is the question of colour - do you opt for white or bright colours? A rainbow of colours or in line with your colour scheme?

The type of confetti used can have an impact on your photographs - I’ve popped examples in this blog so you can see how different types of confetti photograph. My fave? Paper (biodegradable obviously!) and lots of it! It looks amazing when it catches the air and floats all around you!

Location

Do you want to walk through two lines of your guests, or have everyone gathered in a semi-circle around you? Will that be outside or as you walk back up the aisle?

If you do confetti walking back up the aisle - just be aware that the people at the far ends of the rows will really have to throw it to reach you!

The Moment

Just chuck it, right? You probably don’t want confetti being thrown directly in your face! I will advise your guests to throw it nice and high in the air rather than directly at you. This means that it will fall around you, and you’re less likely to be pulling faces as it flies at you.

Make sure there is plenty of confetti - whilst some guests may bring confetti with them, it is much better to provide it for your guests rather than assuming that people will bring lots with them.

Walk slowly! Enjoy the moment - your guests are there celebrating your marriage with you - soak it all up… and if you want to stop for a cheeky kiss halfway, I would absolutely recommend it!
